blog recipes

Recipes in this section include both raw food and whole "cooked" food recipes.  Many of these recipes will be plant-based along with a portion having animal-based products, often including a vegan or vegetarian option.  From my background and experience to the classes I've taught and in-home training, I cover many special types of food preferences from vegan to paleo to low glycemic (low sugar), meeting a wide range of deliciously healthy food connoisseurs.

Chocolate Iced Coffee - Healthy Mocha Sugar Free

Chocolate Iced Coffee - Healthy Mocha Sugar Free

NOTE FOR ICED VERSION:  Because coconut oil solidifies in cool and cold temperatures this recipe needs to be heated to thoroughly combine the coconut oil. You can also blend all the ingredients together on high speed for 30-60 seconds. Otherwise, omit the coconut oil from this recipe. Cool the hot chocolate and pour over ice with an optional cup of cold brew coffee!

2 cups milk (of your choice)

2 tablespoons cacao powder

1 tablespoon coconut oil, liquefied

2 tablespoons xylitol

1/2 teaspoon stevia

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup cold Brew

2 cups ice cubes, optional

DIRECTIONS

In a pan on medium heat, whisk the contents until smooth. I like to heat this to a simmer instead of a boil. Pour into your favorite cup and dust with cacao powder and a pinch of cinnamon. Thank me later!

Why use a combination of xylitol and stevia? One reason is for flavor balance and I explain this more in-depth in my hot chocolate tutorial.
